WHAT WE DO

Little Lodge Nursery is housed in a purpose built self-contained building that adjoins the proprietor’s house. We have extensive facilities at your child’s disposal that include a large garden and play area, children’s bathroom, kitchen, indoor sand pit, dressing-up wardrobe, painting/art room, and play area including a play house complete with kitchen. We also have a library section for quiet reading and computer work. Furthermore, part of the nursery is set aside for more structured work.

Little Lodge is fully registered with OFSTED Early Years, and our emergency arrangements are inspected and approved by the Fire and Rescue Services. As part of our incorporation into the nursery grant scheme we undertook our first OFSTED inspection in 1997 and that and subsequent reports are available at the Nursery for your inspection. We welcome your comments regarding any aspect of the reports. Every term, we produce a newsletter informing you of what your child will be doing during the term, notice of trips, plays and other general items of interest.

OPENING HOURS

Our registration states that we must maintain a maximum staff/child ratio of 1 to 8, but we consistently better that by maintaining 1 to 6. The nursery is, of course, fully insured for any eventuality, and our policies are open for full inspection. We are open 5 days a week from 8.00 a.m. until 3.30 p.m., with extended hours until 5.30 p.m.  (babies until 6:00pm if required). We hold two sessions daily, 8.00 a.m. until 11.50 a.m., and 12.10 p.m. until 3.30 p.m. We run a breakfast club every morning from 7.45 a.m. until 8.30 a.m. for parents wishing to leave their children with us earlier. The charge for this service is inclusive of toast or biscuits and a drink. We also run an after hours club from 3.30 p.m. until 5.30 p.m., which is also attended by children from the age of 5 to 7.

During half-term and holiday periods we run informal activity weeks, and programmes are available upon request. Furthermore, we only charge on a “per session” basis, and have no minimum charges, or retaining fees to worry about during the holidays. We charge a single registration fee of £35 which is non-refundable. You can choose for your child to attend simply a few sessions, certain days only, full time, mornings/afternoon’s only or whatever you require. Please note, however, that children of between 3 months to 2 years can attend for full days only. We have no restrictions on sessions (apart from Activity Weeks, which are full days only), and make every effort to accommodate your needs. Your account can be settled termly, weekly, monthly or half-termly as you wish.
